The CAT24AA02 is an EEPROM serial 2-Kb I2C device internally organized as 256x8 bits. The device has a 16-byte page write cache and supports Standard (100 kHz), Fast (400 kHz), and Fast-Plus (1 MHz) I2C protocols. Unlike the CAT24C02, the CAT24AA02 does not have an external address pin, so it is suitable for the application of a CAT24AA02 on the I2C bus.
The CAV25128 is an EEPROM serial 128-Kb SPI - automotive grade device internally organized as 16Kx8 bits. It has a 64-byte write buffer and supports the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) protocol. The device is enabled through the chip (CS) input. Also, the must-have bus signals are the clock input (SCK), data input (SI) and data output (SO) lines. The HOLD input can be used to suspend any serial communication with the CAV25128 device. The device features software and hardware write protection, including partial and full array protection. On-chip ECC (Error Correction Code) makes the device suitable for high-reliability applications.
